First Recipient of the Reja Klug Memorial Scholarship
Congratulations to Gianna Adams, the first recipient of the Reja Klug Memorial Scholarship!
Gianna is a software engineering major at Mississippi State University, starting her sophomore year in fall 2025. Gianna shared, “I chose to attend MSU because I instantly felt as if it was my home away from home. The moment I stepped foot on campus as a 6th grade student attending a football game, I fell in love.”
Regarding her decision to pursue a STEM degree, Gianna chose software engineering because it was the perfect integration of two interests she discovered in high school: computer science and design. She is also on the pre-dental track to go to dental school, and her current career aspirations are to improve and develop medical software used in clinics, dentistry, hospitals, and beyond.
Gianna is a top student and an active member on campus. “I am a Luckyday Scholar serving on the organization's leadership council and part of the Famous Maroon Band as a color guard member,” she said. “I am also in the Shackouls Honors College and a part of the Student Association's cabinet in the programming pod!”
Have a great year, Gianna! Congrats on being named the first-ever Reja Klug Scholarship recipient!
